Ponce Inlet Bite is Hot!

The inlet has really turned on for redfish, snook, and tarpon and the water has been gorgeous especially closer to high tide. I had a client say the water looked prettier than when he was just recently in the Bahamas. I wish it was like this year round myself. Water temps have been pushing the mid 80s and there’s been a plethora of bait from mullet of all sizes to threadfins and I’ve even been seeing a ton of blue crabs coming out of the river on outgoing tide. It’s pretty sweet watching 30-40” redfish sucking down a big blue crab on the surface. That outgoing tide has been best for me too. There’s been some snook in that same size range 30-40” we’ve been getting them on bigger live mullet and croakers. The tarpon have been stacked up some days and I’ve actually found them bunching up more later into the incoming tide. I’ve also heard reports of them finding the blue crabs on the surface at times as well. There’s quite a variety of other species you’ll find around the inlet over the next few weeks including flounder, pompano, mangrove snapper, and even some permit. Awesome fishing going on this time of year, and several different options depending on what you’re trying to get into!
